Think you know Justin Bieber? Well, think again. Recently, the Teen Dream was interviewed by Maria da Graça Meneghel, better known as Xuxa, a.k.a. the Brazilian Oprah, and he revealed some previously little-known facts about himself that even the most dedicated true beliebers probably didn’t know.
Everybody knows that Justin Bieber was discovered by Usher. What they may not know is that at their first meeting Usher wasn’t exactly “eager” to hear JB sing. Although Usher was very nice to him, JB recalls that he didn’t exactly welcome the idea of listening to JB audition because so many aspiring artists approach Usher with the same request. Perhaps the fact that he and JB met in a parking lot had something to do with it as well.
Everyone also knows Justin wants to be a family man someday. And he knows he wants more than one child. Having grown up as an apparently lonely only child, he wants “his kids to have friends.” Aww.
Justin once dreamed of being an architect. That was because his dad was a construction worker, and he envisioned the 2 of them working as a team. Biebs could design houses and his father, Jeremy, could build them. Again, awww.
Justin Bieber is an animal lover, and he loves animals of all species. His pets have included hamsters, his dog Sam, his snake, Johnson, who became famous at the MTV VMAs, and even a Tarantula. And you thought Johnson was shocking. Justin hopes to adopt more pets.
Justin prefers his current 3 hours per day school schedule because he loves to “talk a lot.” He fears that if he were in a traditional high school setting, he’d get into trouble for blabbing in class.
Near the end of the interview, Xuxa did an impromptu word association exercise with her famous guest. To “family, friend, and music,” JB pretty predictably replied “mom, fun, and art.” To “fans,” he responded “amazing.” But to the word “Brazil,” the 17-year-old enthusiastically answered: “Pretty girls.”
Wonder if he’ll have to explain that one to Selena Gomez?
Speaking of the “Who Says?” singer, her name was never mentioned. Was Xuxa prepped in advance or have journalists around the world finally learned that questions about Justin’s love life are off-limits?
Lastly, Justin Bieber is not a hater of any kind. He doesn’t hate anything or anyone. Not even the haters who hate him. Now that is amazing.
